Apartment Rentals in Nashville, TN

Nestled in the hills of central Tennessee, Nashville, TN is a true cultural gem. It also enjoys one of the highest quality of life rankings of any medium-size city in the country, so it's no surprise that thousands of folks are flocking here each year to take advantage of the vibrant local economy. If you're new to Nashville, finding an apartment in town is easy with one of several free apartment-finder publications available in area shops and restaurants or online.

Types of Apartments

One of the first things you'll notice about Nashville is its small-town atmosphere. Don't be fooled, though: There are plenty of different apartment options here: older walk-up units, new complexes geared towards college students, and gleaming high-rises in the downtown district. Some of the newer complexes and high-rises feature on-site amenities like outdoor pools, gyms, and concierge services. Be sure to inquire about the parking situation in large complexes, as street-parking in Nashville is notoriously difficult.

Neighborhood Considerations

As the unofficial capital of country music as well as the home of several major universities, Nashville has a vibrant culture including a serious nightlife scene. If you're new to town, make sure you get to know the neighborhoods to which you're considering moving. Some streets stay busy until well after 3 am, making life difficult if you're not a night owl. On the other hand, if you like to mingle, affordable apartments can be found in the downtown area and the neighborhoods surrounding Vanderbilt University.

Pet Policies

Before you bring your pet to Nashville, ask your landlord or manager what your apartment building or complex's pet policy entails. Some places ban pets altogether, while others charge only a nominal pet fee. Some newer buildings, especially in more upscale quarters downtown, allow only cats and small dogs.

Size and Rent

Because much of the terrain surrounding Nashville is rugged, finding suitable land on which to built new apartments is becoming more difficult. As such, local apartment rents have increased in recent years. Don't get a three-bedroom apartment if you'll be living alone unless you don't mind paying for it.
